Send Rachael to Thailand!

Hello! 

For those of you that don’t know me, I am entering into my second year of Mental Health Nursing at Northumbria University.

As part of my course I have been given the amazing opportunity to see how mental health services are ran in other countries. I have applied to go to Chiang Mai, in Tailand, for four weeks in September this year.

I will be volunteering at two leading hospitals and participating in several clinics in Chiang Mai. These hospitals/clinics provide primary care to a population of around one million people! The hospitals are full of activity, each seeing between 800 and 1000 outpatients per day. Joining the nursing team in these hospitals will provide me with great access to observe many medical procedures and treatments. 

Taking part in this international placement will help me gain an exceptional insight to medicine and nursing. Joining the nursing team will allow me to develop my own clinical skills and help shape the future of mental health nursing. Volunteering in Thailand is an experience that will stand out on my CV altogether helping me to obtain the successful career i have always wanted as a Nurse. 

Please sponsor whatever you can give to help cover the cost of the project . It's £1,700 to go for 4 weeks, £290 for the administration fee and flights on top of that. I will be working very, very hard to save as much money as i can to pay for admin fees and flights. My aim is to raise as much money as i can towards the actual cost of the project.
