Hi! I'm Ronia Mosaso, a teacher and an agent of change. I got accepted as one of the delegates in Bali Asia International Model United Nations. This will be held in Bali, Indonesia on March 22-25, 2019 and I humbly ask for your financial assistance to make my BAIMUN journey come true.
You might wonder why I'd like to be a part of the said event. Is it related to the subject I teach in school? Will I get CPD units from attending this? These are some of the concerns Filipino teachers have before engaging in such events. However, I disregarded the idea of gaining points to renew my license. I do not want to comply to what I am expected to do just because it is practical.
Last summer, I was chosen as one of the scholars of Graduate Diploma in Cultural Education, a program by the National Commission for Culture and the Arts. Taking up GDCE was quite far from my major--Science teaching. At first I doubted if the program would be of any help to me, but then my teachers proved me wrong. They made me realize how important it is to integrate cultural education in the subject matter we teach in school. I found a new meaning and inspiration in teaching my students because of that. And through BAIMUN that promotes learning and understanding the different cultures in Asia, I want to be a well rounded and competent teacher that does not only teach science but also promotes culture and heritage.
I believe that this experience will not only make me a better person but it will also make me a more enlightened teacher that our society needs. I want to learn new things and inspire others to take a chance in making this world a better place.
I hope that you can help me with my journey. Thank you!
