Between July and January, I will be traveling to the Philippines to pursue various projects, such as my first mission trip with Kabataan Alliance, GABRIELA International Congress, and *possibly* an internship with the Ibon Foundation. I will be integrating with youth organizers, peasant and labor leaders, indigenous activists, and other communities. I also aim to support local efforts of the GABRIELA Manila Chapter, leading up to the December convening, and to craft another collection of poetry to provide material support for their work. Other intentions of returning home are to gain experience in policy research, create educational materials for grassroots initiatives, and to learn Tagalog. My hopes are that I can better connect with not only my family, but migrant and marginalized Filipinos anywhere.
Please help me in making this endeavor possible!
The $3000 that I am raising will contribute to the following:
- $1200 - Plane Tickets
- $650 - Kabataan Alliance Registration Fee
- $500 - Two 90-Day Visa Extensions
- $150 - Cellphone Fees
- $500 - Emergency Money
