Hello friends, colleagues, secret admirers, perhaps even strangers!

I was recently accepted to attend The Home School, a relatively new writing workshop focused on experimental poetics and craft, taking place in Miami next January of 2016, and I'm asking for your help in raising the costs of attendance.

This opportunity is important to me because I've been writing in mostly a kind of covert solipsistic practice for the last few years, and this workshop presents a chance to step outside of myself in a big way by connecting and sharing writing with others. It would mean immersion in a community of fellows from a diversity of backgrounds who share in a vision of pushing language around in innovative ways and the chance to work, hang out, and share ideas with poets Cathy Park Hong, Maggie Nelson, Tan Lin, and Mira Gonzalez, some of my favorites.

The specific projects I'm hoping to develop in advance of and at this workshop include:

• Second Person, a chapbook-length manuscript of personal essay, theory, and poetry;
• Channel, a many-authored, integrative experimental essay periodical; and
• Keeping In Touch, a multimedia project in personal correspondence.

I am hoping to raise, at minimum, the amount of the program tuition I have left to pay after paying a $250 deposit out of pocket. That amount is $925--that being said, anything you all donate beyond that amount will still be so instrumental and go towards paying for the necessary accessory expenses of airfare, accommodation, and food.

I appreciate any amount you can offer and your support, with or without donation! The incredible, sprawling, growing community of friends, peers, mentors, and artists in my life is what gives me life-fire, and I overflow with gratitude for it, every day.
