Hello There
Thank you for taking time to read my message. I really do appreciate your time.
The reason for starting this crowdfunding campaign is to assist fund my overseas postgraduate studies at the University of Westminster, London. I have been accepted to study a one-year Masters degree in Law (LLM) in Entertainment Law, with my main focus on Intellectual Property and Regulation and how this ties into Human Rights. It has always been a lifelong dream to serve my country in four sectors I am extremely passionate about; the arts, business, leadership and human rights.
I believe that these sectors have significant potential to unlock growth in our country in terms of our economy, our education, business and governance, to connect communities more extensively with leaders in the public and private sectors and improve the lives of our communities. The arts has the power to narrate stories of our communities and being the voice of the voiceless. Practitioners in this sector have the responsibility to bring to the attention of our leaders so that they too form part of the solution to better our country and essentially the world. The business sector has the capital that we need in order to make meaningful contributions to communities or those who have taken it upon themselves to serve selflessly to create a better environment for generations to come. When business leaders and government who provides policy direction, come together and bring their expertise and resources, this unlocks exponential possibilities in communities lives being improved. This in turn restores dignity to many who may feel that they are not been seen or heard and that their conditions are being not attended to. This empowers them to want to do good for the country and to see it grow as well as to create other platforms for others to benefit from. When such a partnership between all four mentioned sectors takes place or the realisation of how these sectors can aid us as a country, we will be at the forefront of innovation, development, governance and democracy.
Seeing as the next phase of our democracy is fast approaching, these sectors in collaboration with others need to work together in ensuring that we navigate the next 25 years of our democracy as robustly as possible where different views, engagements and solutions are encouraged to strengthen our democracy and make democracy work for the people who live in our nation. This can be seen in the way Rwanda has gone about adopting democracy in a way that works for the nation which has been widely praised by its citizens and the world. This degree will enable me to explore all these aspects and expand my horizon so that I can be in the position to help guide our country to a robust and prosperous future through our next phase of democracy, especially as we implement the NDP Vision 2030 that aims to grow South Africa and its people to new heights.
With any small contribution towards my studies or spreading the word to anyone who may be able to assist me, this life changing opportunity will start to be in motion. The funds raised will be used to pay for my tuition fees and with any further donations, I will put towards my book costs and accommodation.
I will not only be studying further to be in a position where I can lead and serve our country and the world positively and guide crucial processes that can guide us on the road ahead. I want to be there when South Africa claims its rightful spot as a global leader and as such, I am willing to serve.
Enkosi,
Fumani
