Send Me a Letter. Helping to end loneliness and isolation.

I need your help to raise £5,000 to launch Send Me A Letter , a postal contact service to help combat loneliness and isolation. People of all ages and gender suffer from those awful feelings of anxiety and lack of belonging. We all need to feel valued and to have something to look forward to.

Send Me a Letter will make written contact at least every 2 weeks, with registered individuals, it will be a chatty, personal letter, specific to them. It will NOT be a generic letter. Many will be embellished / decorated. The letters will not be intrusive nor will they lead to mountains of unsolicited mail. The letters do not have to be answered but if individuals choose to do so they can reply to Send Me a Letter via our Royal Mail PO Box. As a counsellor with many years experience I know that many , many, people sit alone each and every day with seconds feeling like hours and days dragging monotonously into another lonely month. My own experiences as a new mum (many years ago now!) were a mixture of excitement and happiness mixed with some very lonely and anxious hours. I would have loved the letter box to rattle and an attractive chatty letter to arrive just for me. (It's always nice when it's not a final demand!) Family and friends can't always be on hand and often their own work and family commitments mean they struggle to maintain regular contact with an older relative or friend or someone recently bereaved or separated. They can however donate and nominate someone to receive letters from Send me a Letter I want to try and help improve life for some of those people who are feeling lonely and isolated. I've worked with vulnerable people all my life and with your help we can make a difference with Send Me a Letter. Please donate whatever you can to help.
