Jocelyn's Going to Oregon!
If you ever have an opportunity to meet our daughter, Jocelyn, you would quickly be drawn to her huge heart of compassion, her intelligent sense of humor and keen intuition. Deep down, she's a world-traveler, an adventurer and philanthropist, with equal amounts of time dedicated to her self-nurturing and soul-exploring processes. She's funny and witty when comfortable in her company and on her best days, she's ready to roll with the punches!
This year is her Senior year and her time to shine! We want to prepare her for her many journeys as she explores the world, it's many countries and cultures, and in her own way, makes it a better place for all of us. Her initial solo trip to Oregon this summer is only the beginning, and an incredible opportunity for her to try on her "Explorer Boots" for the first time. She will be staying with her favorite Aunt and Uncle in Gresham, just outside of Portland, and have access to many of the wonderful activities in the beautiful State of Oregon.
Currently, Jocelyn is taking the summer off to work, travel and save a little toward her trip. We are also investing what we can to create this memorable learning experience for her. She desperately needs this 'Rites of Passage' trip to be on her own (and yet she will be staying with wonderful caring family members) and take a little breather in fresh Oregon air.
Please help her by contributing whatever means is possible for you to help us send Joss to Oregon! Your donations will help to cover travel costs (she is taking the train) as well as food, local transportation (to and from Portland - about a 20 minute bus ride) and activities (she is looking into local teen activities and hikes, the local zoo and the Portland Community Center where they have activities for teens). If you have access to discounted train fares or happen to have a pass we could use, please let us know, any contribution is very much appreciated! Thank you!
