Thanks for taking the time to visit my fundraising page!

In September, I will be taking a month out to volunteer abroad in Cusco, Peru. Many people in that country live in poverty, and the ones who are affected the most are children. Regardless of economic status, every child deserves care and education. I will help rehabilitate malnourished children and engage with them in educational activities.  I am doing this through an organization called UBELONG (visit ubelong.org for more info if you're interested yourself).  I have never been out the country, so finding an organization that would provide me a lot of support and knowledge while I am out there without knowing anyone was important. After tons of research, I decided they were the best due to their affordability and interested in giving people a chance to experience making some kind of difference- not just ‘voluntourism’.

There are many fees I have to pay for associated with this trip that are due soon, and I don't want to go just because I don't have enough funds. So I am asking friends and family for help to get me out there! Anything helps. Please know 100% of this money will go towards this trip and I will also use it to help bring school supplies and other resources the children need there. This fundraiser ends on May 17th, my birthday…so forget a present, there is nothing I would love more than a contribution from you!

+ Why am I doing this? Well I am going to be done with my general education requirements the end of this summer, and before I transfer to a university I decided to do something worthwhile. I plan to apply to nursing programs, and I feel this experience will be closely related to the work of a registered nurse.
