Send Ellie to Cal Debate Camp

Hi, my name is Ellie! I’m asking for your support in order to attend the Cal National Debate Institute in San Fransisco, California.

If you don’t know, I will be a rising senior at Bingham High School. I have taken on one of the most challenging extracurriculars, high school Speech and Debate, specifically being a member of the policy team.

I do realized I am very privileged and lucky to be able to participate in this activity, and I realized that your donation could be contributed somewhere else.

But, what I can promise you is that my weeks at camp will be filled with hard work. I will try to use the skills I gain from camp not only in the debate space, but in real life at school and my social interactions as well. Just know I’m not going to camp to try to crush people in arguments, but to develop myself in all aspects of life. Going to debate camp is one of the most rewarding and challenging experience of my life

I had the amazing opportunity to attend the same camp last year, and since that time, my mother gave birth to my very beautiful little brother. Unfortunately, babies do cost a little bit of money so it seems like it will be hard to go to camp this year.

Additionally, I come from a school with just one coach, so I usually get most of my education from rounds. Though I am learning a lot from these rounds, the practice I will get through camp will ensure I can get individualized coaching from the best debaters in the nation to try and further my debate career. Since this is my last year in high school, I really want to make it count.
