Hi, I'm Celine from the Philippines. I got accepted to the HPAIR Harvard Conference under the Business and World Economy track, to be held on February 17-20. As Harvard’s largest annual student event in Asia, HPAIR brings together 300 delegates from the world’s top universities to discuss important issues in the Asia-Pacific.
As a business and accountancy student, I see this event as a great opportunity to learn more about my field of study from foreign perspectives, as well as gain insights from intelligent speakers. I would learn about other countries' best practices in business and governance, and impart these with my fellow Filipinos when I go back to the Philippines, starting with the students in my university. Moreover, I hope to discuss socially relevant issues with my fellow delegates, particularly programs and policies in the public and private sector, and come up with solutions to pressing problems.
I was able to attend the HPAIR Asia Conference in Hong Kong last August, and the awesome experience inspired me to pursue more opportunities for learning and cross-cultural interaction. Winning in the case competition of the Entrepreneurship and Technology track was just icing on the cake, but I'm extremely thankful for it nonetheless. This time, I would like to dream bigger, and represent my university and my country in Harvard.
Coming from a middle-class family, it is a challenge to raise funds to participate in the conference. The registration fee alone is $400 (approximately Php20000), excluding airfare (approximately Php49000) and living allowance.
Thus, I seek your help in making this dream of mine come true. Please help send me to Harvard this February. I would extremely appreciate donations of any amount, or help in other forms (e.g. sharing my fundraising campaign to individuals or organizations who could provide support).
From the bottom of my heart, thank you very much!
