Campaign Story
On March 2 this year, I fell on the ice outside my home. I am a self employed Remodeler / Handyman who makes a living with my talents, muscle, hands, truck, ladders, and tools. I am expecting 8 more weeks of weeks of healing and recovery, and physical therapy. I need emergency cash for daily expenses, and financial obligations such as food, out of pocket medical expense, utilities, business obligations, payments on debt, and home mortgage payments. I had surgery after 10 days in a temporary cast on March 13th. Following surgery, I am unable to work for 8 to 12 weeks depending on PT progress and removal of the cast. This is devastating to me as a self employed contractor because March is the beginning of peak business especially after a very cold and slow business winter. My most optimistic hope is to be caught up before November this year, but without some help it's unlikely I can dig out of this at all. As a self employed individual, with a short term disability, I am not eligable for unemployment or SS disability benefits.
