My name is Brittany Crane and I am a junior at San Diego State University. I have always had a passion and urge to encourage positive development toward the younger generation, which is why I am seeking a Bachelors of Science degree in Child and Family Development. Studying abroad is a requirement that I need to fulfill by May of 2020 so that I can graduate on time and with my class. I am required to spend at least 3 weeks abroad, and I have chosen a volunteer service project through the International Volunteer HQ (IVHQ). I chose to do special needs care in Barcelona, Spain. I was accepted into the program a few months ago, but unfortunately I was just made aware that I was not granted the scholarship that I was hoping to receive in order to fund my abroad trip. Since my project was set to begin on July 8th of this year, I am speeding to try and collect the funds I need to be able to embark on this journey. My acceptance into this amazing program amongst many influential volunteers and staff members was humbling enough, but being able to actually deliver the hands on attentive care that I can provide to the children in need would be remarkable.
