The reason for this campaign is my despair!
I still live with my parents because I never had a stable job to be able to arrange my life like any normal person. Unfortunately, my country does not help me in this! Greece is a country that does not want to make progress. It wants you to be enslaved and to work for the state. It leaves you a little money in your pocket, just to buy your food so you can eat and hold on to your feet to keep working for them! The Greek fascist government is not interested in the progress and development of the country and its inhabitants. They are only interested in filling their pockets with money from others!!! Lies to the Greek people ... they lie in Europe and the rest of the world! They are hypocrites and scammers! For Greek politicians, Greece is a business where they are the bosses and the citizens are their workers! They make laws that are for their own interests, and always to the detriment of the citizens. And once they win what they want, they will eliminate them!
My formal profession is a graphic designer. I was working in small businesses but I never managed to stabilize myself in a job. Often, I was a victim of exploitation by my employers because I was 'soft' and they exploited it. Although late, I realized that in Greece everyone exploits good people. It's a rule for the Greeks. They do not appreciate honesty because they are not honest and decent people, so they cannot know how to appreciate the value of kindness. That's why I changed. I gained confidence and learned to claim. But even this did not work very well. It scares them when a person is confident. It scares them when you claim your rights. They are afraid of the fact that there are people better than them. And so, they are driving you away, because they prefer to stoop your head and say 'yes' to everything! So, I decided to become a freelancer, trying to avoid bad working conditions. I started collaborating with people to cover the whole range of graphic arts, but in the process, it turned out to be defective or our ideology did not match. So, I kept working on my own. At first, I was going well but later the financial crisis in Greece began to affect my profession as well. And soon I was again unemployed, leaving a debt of more than € 6000 to OAEE. (Professional Insurance Agency). A debt to the state, which is constantly increasing if you do not pay the required money every 3 months.
But the years have passed, and as I grow older, the harder is to find a job in the profession I love. You see ... Greek businessmen prefer young people who do not have a lot of professional experience and so they will not ask for a big salary ... and they will be able to exploit them (as usual) to the fullest! Even other jobs I was looking for, I could not find because everyone here in Greece is asking you to have an experience. Even for jobs that do not need to be experienced. And the reason is that they do not want to spend the time needed to train you because they do not want to lose money! They are greedy people and unprofessional!!!
So, I decide to spare the little money I had in a different and autonomous profession ... to become a taxi driver. As a social and friendly person I am, I felt it was an ideal profession for me. But I did not know what I would meet ...!!! I passed the exams for the license, I rented a taxi and started to work. The fixed costs of the car were € 80-100 per day. The rent of the car was € 50 per day, at least € 20 oil, and VAT which I made from the receipts. I worked 17-20 hours per day and I was not able to make more than € 100-120. Simply put, I was working for him who rented my car. Whatever I was doing was giving it to him. I was disappointed more because I was like an unemployed person and once again a victim of exploiting the "system"! During my new job, I encountered many problems that my "colleagues" created, as well as many capricious customers. The supposed colleagues, looked at me with hostility and anger, and some of them sought to drive me out of the taxi rank that was seated. What I learned in those 6 months of this profession is that taxi drivers in Greece are indifferent to the laws and rules of the profession. They work arbitrarily, and act like mafia. They have forgotten that the profession of taxi driver is the service of the citizens. With the "support" of the Greek taxi trade union, and the "protection" of the state, they do what they want without anyone disturbing them! They work illegally and steal everyone ... especially tourists who do not know Greece! The rule of the Greek taxi driver is to charge the double price for a route to the tourist. For example, when the distance to Omonia at Port of Piraeus costs up to € 12, they will charge the route € 25. And of course, without a taximeter. And if the customer complaints, they will get angry by trying to show that they felt insulted by calling them "thieves"! Where in fact they are terrible thieves and hypocrites; but it's one of the many "tricks" they do!
Similar illegalities and "tricks" do others in the field of tourism. Like the hotels on the islands, especially the popular ones. They create fake photos to reach customers by presenting their hotel in front of a beach, while in reality it's far from the sea. When the time comes and the customer appears in the hotel and sees the reality, he will react! But because he will not be able to find another room at the last minute or another hotel, he will be forced to suffer this scam and stay at the hotel which is a kilometer away from the beach. Something he did not want! And that's what the Greeks exploit, the tourists need in the indirect way of coercion!!!
A wise proverb says: 'The fish stinks wherever you catch it.' A proverb worthy of Greece, if you think that the head of the fish represents the impotence and immorality of the leaders, and the body represents the people. The state steals the Greeks and the Greeks steal the state! It's the game of cat and mouse, where everyone has the role of both ... at the same time!!! A game that does not end! Greeks who refuse to participate in such a "game" are honest people, and for the most part, the poorest! In this category of people belongs my family. I grew up with principles and I tend to maintain them, refusing to accept the wrong influences from negative people. And most Greeks are negative people! They are the people who, if you do not agree with them or if you do not have the same opinion as theirs, will become reactionary and will "fight you" until they convince you that their theory is right! Are the people who say lying more easily than truth! Are the people who will believe what they see on TV! Are people who believe they are better than the rest of the world, just because we have a major story "on our back"! They have several psychological problems, they are petty, narrow-minded, selfish, snobbish, unhappy, miserable, malicious; they are happy to make someone unhappy, and jealous when someone is better than them, trying in any way to derogatory him and turn him into what they consider "right". Are the people who think the right thing is wrong, and the wrong is right! Are the people who only "distinguish the black and white colors": They do not know how to mitigate the situations. They do not know how to think; they do according to the mass and not the logic! (Common 'sheep'!!!) They hide their feelings behind a fake smile. They are hypocritical and arrogant. They care about nothing and anyone, except for themselves and their family. They have a lack of dignity, self-esteem, and credibility. They have no humor because they have chosen to be "serious," and they think that humor is not in keeping with seriousness! Deeply, they are immature and irresponsible people. And at this point the problem is the wrong Greek culture; the way the Greeks nurture their children!
Now, I can say for sure that I am ashamed of my people. I am ashamed to live among them and I do not want to be part of such a foolish and false society! A society that even my ancient ancestors would be ashamed of!
I'm tired psychologically and I'm not happy in this problematic country. I have no future in Greece and I cannot have a progress. I'm different from them! I refuse to co-ordinate in Greek stereotypes, and to become as they want me to be, in order to be accepted in the society of their wish! I feel oppressed and trapped!
And that's why I am writing to you all the above (although not the only reasons, but the basics to understand the extent of the problems I'm facing). I need to have a better life, a simple and normal life without people with "special needs" around me. I have the desire to take advantage of the energy and will which I still have for finding a decent life. And at this point you get part ... my only hope for a last attempt to restore my life. You, who are better people and understand the situations I live in!
I wish to live in a country away from situations that will negatively affect me, and certainly as far away from "ugly" people! I would like to try my luck in Australia (but that doesn't mean I will reject other ... equally remarkable countries). Australia is a country I always wanted to visit but I never did. It has a beautiful nature and a good political system. It's a country (among others) with a good economy, respects its culture (as opposed to the Greek government that exploits the culture and history of its country for its benefit), and gives opportunities to young people. It's a country that respects its laws ... which characterizes it as respectable and civilized.
Unfortunately, I have no one in Australia or in other countries that could help me make a start. That's why I ask the help of well-meaning people to gather the money needed for my ticket, visa, stay and maintenance for the first few months until I find work!
I am a good and social person who likes to help and share interests with others. In the past I was a member of Action Aid (an independent Greek organization that has been campaigning against poverty and injustice since 1972 in more than 45 countries around the world), and a sponsor of a girl from Sierra Leone. Unfortunately, I have not been able to strengthen her community for a long time because I was unemployed (again!).
I am a big animal lover and I always have and will have animals in my possession!
I'm sorry if you tired of my text but I thought it was necessary to say some basic things to get a good picture of the situations in Greece and the reasons I need your help.
Thank you all in advance and I appreciate your every act. Even the time you spent to read my writing. If you want to talk to me before you do some action, I will be very happy!!!
I am grateful to you!
Thank you very much.
