Seeing is believing ONA Treatment

Greetings All

Our brother,friend and humble soul Cameron completely lost his sight in both his eyes by April 2016.

We have been searching and researching possible treatment and trials that are available to treat his condition.

With his condition initially ,some doctors in South Africa had told us there is nothing they can do.We haven't given up, we are looking at sending him for treatment in China with Beike Biotechnology.

Cameron has a condition called Optic Nerve Atrophy . Optic Nerve Atrophy is basically the loss or damage of some or all of the nerve fibres of the optic nerve. Unfortunately, in Cameron's case the damage to his optic nerve has resulted in complete loss of vision in both eyes. Optic Atrophy usually starts off with colour blindness or colours appearing to be washed out.

Optic Atrophy has a gradual onset, but Cameron suffered rapid deterioration to his sight (in both eyes). The rapid onset suggests inflammation of the optic nerve or toxic trauma.

In medicine the term "Atrophy" usually means "shrunken but capable of regrowth". This is a simple definition that motivates us and gives us hope. We are determined and intend to persist in order to help Cameron recover from the devastation and impairment he has suffered.

We would be highly appreciative of any contributions whether it be big or small. We have done extensive research, we have investigated to great lengths and we are confident that we have found the best and most hopeful option for him. With the help from our families and communities, and your generosity, Cameron will attend an international Stem Cell Treatment Program, which - in all honesty - is extremely costly.
