Seeds of Love is working in conjunction with African Spirit; a highly reputable NPO in Howick, to help alleviate hunger and lack of skills in the Umngeni area. Activities that funding will go towards include:
· Continuing to share life skills with members of the community who currently live below the national poverty line. This is usually carried out as a workshop, via SMS and online.
· Feeding vulnerable individuals on a daily basis. An activity we can't carry out as normal due to the national shut down of nonessential businesses (our coffee shop, craft shop and hall business included). At this time, we are focusing on feeding eleven individuals.
· Continuing to send job posts and updates as well as drafting of CVs and printing free of charge to individuals without access. We also provide references for trainees to increase chances of employment. Of course, however seeking jobs at this time is not encouraged.
· We have purchased the necessary safety equipment required to prepare and give out food parcels. However, we feel it will be very necessary to provide recipients with the essentials to keep themselves protected during the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in South Africa. Donations will also enable us to spread greater knowledge about how to keep each other safe during this period.
With an amount of R3000, we will be able to sustain our ongoing activities within the community.
