Hi! My name is Krista and I need help funding my 2014-2015 skating season. I am a synchronized figure skater out of Anaheim, California and my team will be representing the U.S. in Europe this January and will also be traveling to multiple domestic competitions, including Nationals in Rhode Island. I need help raising funds to pay for coaching fees, costuming, equipment, ice time and travel. I am also a full-time student.  Synchronized skating (synchro) is one of the fastest growing disciplines in the world of figure skating.  My synchro team is composed of 8 – 16 athletes who perform two choreographed programs.  These programs contain various formations such as circles, lines, group lifts, blocks, wheels and intersections. Figure skating has typically been an individual sport, but with the recent growth of synchronized skating, I now have the opportunity to be part of a team while still participating in the sport I love individually.  I have been skating for 16 years now and this is my 10th season as a synchronized figure skater. I have represented the U.S. in multiple competitions throughout Europe taking place in Hungary, Austria, France and Sweden. This year we will be assigned to a competition by U.S. Figure Skating in the fall and will work our hardest to represent our country well and bring back a medal. These next four years are crucial for the U.S. and the rest of the world to step up the competition and prove to the Olympic Committee that 2018 is the time for Synchro to be added to the Olympics! #whynotsynchro2018
