Secret Nate Henricks 30th Birthday Surprise

Friends, family members, and fans of Nate Henricks,

As some of you already know, Nate's 30th birthday is coming up on March 4th. I have been racking my brain the past few months trying to think of something special to do to celebrate this milestone for such an amazing person. This has not been an easy task, as Nate is not someone who enjoys excessive amounts of attention, parties for himself, or stereotypical birthday rituals.

This got me thinking... How does one throw an equivalent of a surprise party for a creative introvert with hermit tendencies?

As I was talking to a friend about this the other day, I had a realization. The one thing that Nate has talked about wanting more than anything the past couple of years is to be able to take some time away from his everyday life to work on music at an artist-in-residency program. Every time he is about to apply for one, he gets hung up on the financial details and says it will have to wait.

So, I thought... Wouldn't it be cool if I could round up Nate's family and friends and raise the funds for him to actually be able to do this!?

As some of you have also experienced, one of the first things I noticed and appreciated about Nate was his willingness to give to others. He is always giving his time and energy to listen, to show encouragement, to help, and to give to others even when he barely has the means he needs for himself. In fact, Nate would probably be mortified if he knew I was doing this - as he does not like asking things from others.

I thought that this would be the best possible gift to show him how many people love, appreciate, and admire his creative giving spirit.

I know that many of you don't have much to give monetarily, but any gift of any size is appreciated!

The money raised for Nate will go towards:

- Travel costs to artist-in-residency

- Food

- Possible artist-in-residency fees

- Money to cover rent/bills while at the residency
