Who We Are
Hello, I am Andrea Doolittle, CEO and Founder of Second Chances Equine Rescue Inc. We opened our doors in August 2013 because Spirit was being sold at a slaughterhouse auction in NJ. Cinnamon became a package deal with Spirit and they were quarantined and transported to Hinesville after purchase. Since their arrival we have had six other horses in various stages of malnourishment and have helped to rehome over 20 others. We provide sanctuary to those horses who would not normally be suitable for adoption.
There are currently seven rescue horses in various stages of rehabilitation at the rescue, of which three will never leave our farm. Our two mares are both expecting and have additional feed requirements.
Second Chances Equine Rescue Inc. a 501(c)3 verified nonprofit that that will provide a humane alternative for horses and other large animals; provide necessary care and training depending on individual circumstances to increase their potential for adoption or sanctuary when deemed. Rescue includes pickup from owners, animal welfare facilities, race tracks, or slaughter bound auctions, assessment of the equine’s suitability as a pet, provision of health care and training as needed and appropriate, qualification of perspective homes, placement, follow-up, and, if a placement fails, recovery into Second Chances Equine Rescue Inc.
This campaign is to provide our annual fund for hay, and our need is $150 per month. Success with this campaign will allow us to continue assisting area people who are no longer able to keep their horses.
Because we are a non-profit, you will receive a tax-deductible receipt for your contribution, please provide your full mailing address. All proceeds from this campaign will go directly to the horses.
