Kidney Transplant for Carina Gealone

A Kidney Transplant Fund Raising for our youngest sister Carina 18yrs old Grade 12 student who was recently diagnosed last February 2018 of Chronic Kidney Disease secondary to Glomerulonephritis and she also has Bladder stones.

Year 2017 when our Father died from Cerosis of the Liver last June 14 which we haven't recovered yet, then recently this June 2018 our Grandmother became bedridden and the tumors might be cancerous. My Grandmother died today June 29, 2018. Now my sister needs a kidney to extend her life.

We were unaware that my sister's series of fever that would last for days, Itching and dry skin, pain in her lower abdomen which we thought was only dysmenorrhea and losing weight is already an indication that something is terrible wrong with her kidneys and stones are already formed in her bladder.

My sister is so dedicated with her studies that even if she has a fever she will still go to school. She would even stay up late at night to finish a group project by herself if no one in her group would like to participate. She is a consistent honor student since Elementary and a very active student both in academics and extra curricular activities. She is an aspiring Architect. Last February 15, 2018 I received a call from our Mother that she is currently admitted in Saints Peter and Paul Hospital which is the nearest Hospital to her School. My Mother were told by her classmates that my sister is a bit off that day. She is currently reporting in her class when her classmates noticed that her writings are strange that she commits errors on spelling and she was told to sit down then she threw a bottled water in front of the class before she got seizures then she fainted.

That day she was rushed to the emergency room and the attending Dr. asked my Mother's permission to put my sister in an Emergency Dialysis or else she will be in coma since her creatinine reached 800.

The Dr. is unsure until when she is going to stop dialysis and hospitals in the province are under-equipped. That's why they left the province of Bicol to go to Manila and seek for a second opinion. Then the Dr. at the National Kidney Transplant Ins. told us that my sister needs to undergo Kidney Transplant while her heart is still okay.

Our brother and I would gladly give the other Kidney we have in order to extend her life. For her to live a normal life, to bring back her confidence wherever she goes, to stop people from staring at her like she has a contagious disease. Most importantly for her to pursue her dreams and have her own family some day.

We were advised to prepare a big amount of money for her Kidney Transplant, work-up of both donor (Me) and patient. The money will also go to her lifetime medication for anti-rejection of the new kidney. Including her current expenses on Dialysis treatment and Hemoglobin injections twice a week.

Some has already provided assistance but it was only for her Hemoglobin injections for a couple of days or so. Me, our brother and mothers salary will not suffice the amount of money we need for the transportation when we need to go to NKTI, meal, rent, electricity, water and other necessity here in Manila.

All of your donations will be much appreciated whether it is big or small. We would need all the help we can get to make the Kidney Transplant happen.

All proceeds will solely be used for her transplant and recovery.
