Sea Turtle Conservation/Teaching in Sri Lanka

Hi Guys!

This is a sponsor page to help me get to Sri Lanka to volunteer in sea turtle conservation and teaching English for two weeks! I have to raise £300 for my placement. I will be paying for my own flights, transfers, visas, medical/travel insurance, vaccinations and living costs out there. I just need a little extra help with paying for my contribution to the project.

I will be volunteering in sea turtle conservation which will involve rehabilitating disabled turtles that have been injured/lost limbs due to being caught in fishing nets and protecting turtle eggs that could otherwise be stolen by local poachers.

I will also be giving free after school English lessons to children in less affluent areas of the community who would not be able to afford private tuition.

Where do you come into this?

As this is a volunteering project, it is completely self-funded. I’m organising it through a non-government funded company called Plan My Gap Year who provide me with accommodation and food for my stay out there. Volunteering comes at a big price, therefore I am aiming to raise money for my trip through this site. I would be forever grateful for any donation, big or small to help me get there.
