Campaign Story
This August 2018 I am looking to raise funds in order to provide physiotherapy assistance to a group of 12 teenagers with Scoliosis to climb Mt.Kilimanjaro . This is in conjunction with the kili achievers .
Kilimanjaro is the highest peak in Africa with the summit measured at 5,895 meters. The trip will take 11 days for us to complete .As part of our training we will be working closely with doctors and strength and conditioning specialists to help prepare these teenagers for the climb .
Scoliosis is an abnormal curvature of the spine. It can be classified as congenital ( abnormalities of the vertebrae from birth), idiopathic ( developed throughout life) or secondary to other conditions ( such as cp or spina bifida). This is a condition which all of our teenage climbers have . Some will have undergone extensive physiotherapy and various surgery in order to correct the alignment of there spine and surrounding musculature.
All donations would be greatly appreciated.
