Schools With Tools: A Fijian Drive

Down in the Pacific Ocean lies a country with beauty in every sight, locals with hearts of gold and cultural conventions like no other, yet being in the tropics means that this haven has been susceptible to Cyclones, Flooding, Earthquakes and Tsunamis which has time and time again strained its local population and damaged their financial stability through the destruction of its agricultural exports and damaged reputation in the eyes of tourists.

I speak of Fiji, a developing country that exhausts it financial resources to rebuild after each frequent natural disaster hits.

My name is David Borensztajn and I have been lucky enough to be raised by a great family, to attend educational institutions and to gain the skills and certifications needed to progress in life. I have taken some time off to see the world and give back a bit before starting future prospects.

I am volunteering in conjunction with IVHQ and Green Lion Fiji for 1 month to provide construction and renovation service to underfunded and struggling school in the area of Narere, Suva. Many of these schools lack funding to renovate their classrooms or build libraries and resource centres. That's where we come in.

All of your donations will be going towards a pool of donations given by volunteers to local tribes in assisting with any future community developments as well as helping to cover my costs of travel, tools and materials and program administrative fees.
