Campaign Story
Introduction
Each and every South African school has to submit Report Documents to the Department
Of Education, periodically; during each Year-Quarter. The work is done
by a team of all teachers. It demands precision, and must be accurate and should be submitted on time. It is left up to them, what methods they use.
It is a daunting task for schools, especially if a number of students are big. It normally takes them
Weeks before their task get completed. A complete set includes extensive examination statistics by each subject and assessment tables for each student and so on.
Pilot project
As an individual I started to build a database application which became an inevitable tool for High Schools. I introduced it to 3 High Schools and was used for almost over 4 years, under mutual development among the schools and I until the structure of the application was ripe. It needs one
User that eventually does the entire task within a few hours and everything else is calculated on the background. At the end it is about printing and submitting without being rejected or penalized by the Department of education.
Development
The prototype has been fully developed into a perfect and useful tool ready to be delivered,
However the hindrance is lack of funds since the project is planned to run countrywide and therefore too huge for one man. The positive impact results of this project will be beyond any imagination and probably encourage creative people who might be having better ideas in other fields.
Aim
Aim of this project is to make this Database Application to be available for free to all High Schools in South Africa and smooth operation toward processing their documents. Schools must spend more time for teaching students and attending to student agenda on progress. Administration tasks must be automatized to reduce task overheads by using this application with respect to a universal reporting system for all schools following prescribed protocol which I have followed but could change. I will be prepared to update this database application when the government changes it’s
School Curriculum. It will be an on-going process for updates.
