‘Schoolies’ Outreach Trip

'Schoolies’ time is coming up quickly. It’s when thousands of graduating high school students flock to hot spots to celebrate the end of secondary school. What seems an exciting idea at first has underlying issues for some. The problems arise when many students who go on Schoolies expect just 'a good time' yet encounter regret over poor decisions and unsatisfying feelings of looking for something 'more' in life.

I’m passionate about helping young people, so this Schoolies period is the perfect opportunity to provide practical and emotional support by reaching out to them with advice and friendship in these popular destinations. The plan is to go to Byron Bay, NSW, for two whole weeks from November 21st to December 5th. It’s called Summer Project which is a mission centered on outreach and youth support. The trip is organised by Student Life, a university club whose core focus is student support. I have been a key volunteer for Student Life for less than a year now. In that time I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to practically and emotionally help other students with university and general life struggles through conversations and friendships on campus.

As a full time student myself, I need lots of help to raise funds for this mission trip.
