We are a school of 300 students and based in the south west of Uganda.
Children need lunch to help them concentrate to learn. Some children don't even have breakfast, so it is important to us to help the most needy students.
We have volunteer cooks and some parents can help occasionally with beans. Our school is in desperate need of maize (posho) or rice.
if you make a donation we will write your name on a bag of maize as a thank you and post it on our facebook page (If you don't want this please let us know). Follow us on this page & your facebook and you can see our progress.....Kanyashande Primary School, Uganda.
This is long over due and I do apologise. I had been concentrating on the face book page and then we joined forces with our other project the ‘Bwindi Learning Centre’ ( BLC). With Covid-19 turning the world around it has taken me to the basics of where I started.
This lunch programme is so important to me. Schools in Uganda are still not back in operation but I am trying to make sure that when they are we will have the food there for the children.
The vegetable garden that we organised at the beginning of the year has lapsed a little since lockdown . The parents and teachers are pitching in to make sure it will be re planted and get it back to 100%.
I am RE stocking the maize in storage but struggling with using only our family as the donors at the moment.
The Bwindi Learning Centre has loaned us 3 pregnant sows. We keep the litter all but 1. We can then sell the piglets to buy vegetable seeds etc... for our new garden. It is good to put vegetables out with the maize for the children. We have had our 3rd litter. Wow it’s an exciting project!
