School Is Where The Heart Is

This government led school relies on generous donations to keep running. Goverment led schools decended from the british empire and are slowly becoming more common in parts of africa.  

There are over 1200 children at this school ranging from 2-16 years of age. Each classroom holds a minimum of 110 children, with only 1 teacher per class. Each family is only required to purchase a school unifrm for their children, although this sounds very little clothes are a commodity that most africans cannot afford. It is becoming increasingly difficult to find the money or goods to sell to allow them to eat, let alone buy clothes for their children.

Children as young as two attend this multifaith school, whereby they must walk long distances to attend class. Some schools have the luxary of a bore hole which supplies fresh clean drinking water, usually donated by generous people such as your selves. However this school is not that lucky, in +35^oc you require 4 litres of water to stay hydrated. At home when you are thirsty you just turn a tap and a never ending supply of water is at your finger tips. Imagine walking miles for water only to find its not clean, but what other option do you have?

Despite the lack of support from the goverment the staff and children are so friendly and enjoy life to its fullest in-spite of the troubles they face everyday. Children understand that school is a luxary and take full advantage of it, however the school only holds so many children but never turns anyone away. Due to this the school is constantly growing but with no extra support or new teachers. 

Any sort of help is welcomed such as a small donation to help buy paper, pencils, uniforms and basic sanitary products for the female pupils.
