Campaign Story
Jewel at 14❣️
Most of us know that she is an exceptionally bright kid, with some very special challenges. Many of her teachers in 5 different schools in 3 different countries have noticed her acute awareness, leadership abilities, and her out of the ordinary artistic talents. With that said, these same teachers could not decipher her complex learning disabilities. That is until last years highly specialized testing. Here is the challenge....
Finding a school specializing in:
Dyslexia, Dyscalculia and ADD
The support in the educational arena is few and far between. When it comes to early education with these 3 learning challenges public school systems just do not support. In the public system children with these learning disabilities are left out or ostracized, leaving kids with low self-esteem and extreme loneliness, not to mention art is often pushed to the wayside.
For these reasons and many more we have continuously sought-after alternative systems that would work with Jewel's challenges and meet them right where they are, build her self-confidence and have her surrounded by others with like issues and skill sets (talents.)
Even with scholarships these are schools that have to fund
themselves. Constantly raising money for this cause that is so greatly
needed
in our society. Most of the scholarships
in education are reserved for the college level. Recently, we found a concentrated Neurolinguistic/artistic method called "Davidson Method" We were able to find a teacher within an hour of our home for
the first module. This very concentrated intensive work has made a
tremendous difference in her growth and comprehension with reading. Yet, at this point with the pandemic, causing challenges and a burden on
our budget. There are 5 modules to this system. $3,000-$4,000 for each module (depending on the practitioner and location.) We are also, looking at 2 other specialized schools. Yet, a years tuition, with partial scholarships is about equal to the expense of the complete one-on-one tutoring modules of the Davis Method.
We are asking for help to continue this and other specialized educational tools.
Please help us fund Jewel's education with the specialized tools/school for the coming year of 2021/2022. All funds will go to support her in overcoming challenges and become part of society’s great artistry and leadership.
We cherish any and all help. Thank you so much for your loving thoughts and support.
Our children ARE our hope for the future.
