Hi & thanks for taking a moment to read about me and my current situation.
My name's Yasmin, and I am a graphic design student.
I started university in 2015 as an Applied arts and sciences student, I decided to take a gap year after my first year as the quality of education in the major wasn’t what I was looking for (not to mention it was a heavy financial burden on my parents) My dad works as a banker, and sadly decided to get into the stock market. Needless to say, without any understanding or experience in that area, he managed to lose a large sum, which put the family in a rather dire situation. Ultimately, he had to take a loan for me and my sister’s universities. It was a limited amount of money and he did not think that the devaluation of the Egyptian pound in 2016 would happen, also, in 2018. Regardless of that, I felt the need to get the best education I could, which meant looking outside of Egypt and getting trained on an international level, and also making a head start into becoming an independent adult, without my family constantly trying to make decisions for me, a common issue in the Middle East with females. I had originally considered Germany, but that meant wasting a year here in Cairo, so Prague become the more prudent choice.
My Father put up what money he could to fund the first 2 years of university, however as this year comes to a close, he is unable to fund my 3rd and final year of my B.A degree (due to another financial crisis in 2018). He can't take any more loans, and is still repaying the last loan. I am working along with studying, which helps to cover my living expenses, but there is no way I can work enough to raise my fees.
It's been a very emotional time for me to have come this far and be in the position that I cannot finish, and end up without a degree and coming back to Cairo with nothing. I am an above average student, putting in all I can give to earn merits and distinctions (as shown by my transcript).

A friend suggested I start this GoGetFunding, which is a new and scary thing for me, to think of complete strangers helping me to realize my dream, but then he told me several stories of how others were able to continue on their journey through the kindness of people paying it forward.
My fee's are not a huge sum of money, they are in total 8,000 Euros, and I have until the Summer (June) to pay them.. So I am trying to be optimistic that in the coming months, people will graciously give me the chance to move ahead in my life and career.
Thank you for taking the moment to read this, it means a lot to me. I understand times are hard and not everyone has income to put to charity, so if you can't put a few dollars towards this, I would really appreciate you sharing this on your social media, in the hopes that others can do the same and maybe help me reach my goal.
