Campaign Story
Rhythmic Gymnastics is a sport that demands a lot of time and dedication to
excel in. Our gymnasts have done exactly that and now have an opportunity to
compete at a national level representing not only their province, but their
club and team as well. We are very proud of our gymnasts' achievements and
hard work, and wish for them to compete at the highest level.
We need your help. The South African Rhythmic Gymnastics national
competition was to be held in the Western Cape this year but has been moved
to Durban, KwaZulu-Natal. The decision has left a lot of parents asking
where they will get the required funds for their children gymnasts to attend
the competition.
There are many expenses connected with attending the competition, but the
major expenses due to distance and timing, are travel and accommodation for
the gymnasts. An unfortunate planning mistake is the cause of the issue, but
we believe that the gymnasts should not be punished for this and want to
help them experience what is like to compete at this level.
Please consider contributing to this fund raiser, even the smallest amount
will help.
Schick Gymnastics Club is situated in Gordon’s Bay at the Barn. We are presently training 40 gymnasts at different levels, ages ranging between 5 -20 years old. The club is 17 years old and is growing each year. Our club is registered at SAGF (South African Gymnastics Federation).
This year tentatively14 of our gymnasts will be representing the Western Cape Rhythmic and Acrobatic Gymnastics team at the SA Championships in Durban and Cape Town respectively during the September 2019 school holidays.
