We have created an app that provides users with a seamless way to map out their nightlife endeavors, eliminating the guessing game of where to visit on any particular night.
Scene - The Nightlife Finder arose from a night out by two young adults who were new to the city. After going to empty bar after empty bar, we thought to ourselves there has to be a better way to do this. After getting home from the bars we turning the TV on and the movie The Social Network was just coming on. We took it as a sign, started the initial drafting of the concept until about 4:30am, and from there Scene was created.
The service that we provide is a live rating system that allows users to see which nightlife establishments are rated the highest throughout the entire night. This benefits our users by helping them have the best time out each night instead of wasting an Uber ride just to show up at an empty bar. Scene will not only benefit users, but it will benefit our bar owners and management by bringing in traffic when the patrons see their establishment has a positive ratings.
The ad service that we will provide within the app will also help bring our customers traffic when the patrons see the specials running through the ad. The opportunity and market for this app include being a staple in every college campus and metropolitan city across the United States and Canada, as well as a staple in every mid to major university with a nightlife Scene. Our target advertisment customers are bar and club owners, DJ's, and alcoholic beverage companies.
Our competitive advantage includes a simple to use rating system that always lets our users know the up-to-date statistics of the nightlife venues. Our unique selling point includes a membership to be featured on our app as well as an ad system that allows businesses to run ads directly from their phone to the app.
We have a finished product on the Apple store as well as a prototype being released on Google play by the end of the year. The website is up and running and our social media following is growing. We have received positive feedback from users, potential customers, and industry experts including one who has successfully grown many apps including a recent one, Hooked.
Our short term goals are to grow our membership within the Central states and then expand organically to other major markets. From there, we plan on branching out throughout North America. In 3-5 years, we see the business being not only nationwide, but international, as this service is needed in destinations across the globe for foreign travelers and natives alike. The funding will be used 100% for marketing and advertisement.
We are very thrifty and know how to make every dollar count. We believe in a boots on the ground philosophy, along with a heavy social media push as well. We have student ambassadors at Ohio State University, Michigan State University, University of Cincinnati, and Belmont University. With our solid distribution throughout the Central states, we feel as if we have the tools in place to make Scene a part of every one’s night out.
