"To my dear Sophia,

Please forgive me for not being able to play with you, carry you, do homework with you and sleep beside you at night for the last few weeks. I miss you dearly. When you come see me, no one can imagine how my heart leaps for joy just with the sight of your smile - that smile that I wish to see everyday as you grow old. You may have also noticed that l stare at you when you eat the food they bring here in the hospital. I have countless thoughts in my head, I keep on wondering and worrying on "how long do I have left? Will I still have the chance to take you to places? Can we still go to that buffet restaurant you like so much?" We had that planned for our birthday. It was the perfect plan cause we get to eat for free. I promised you that.

I am scared that it may not happen. I am terrified but I want to fight.

You are the strongest medicine I have to keep me strong. I know it will be a tough battle but I will fight. It pains me a lot but I will fight. I will fight so I can keep my promises to you, be it your birthday, your school presentation, or just getting your report card. I will fight so that Daddy will always be there for you; so that one day, when you come home from school and ask "Si daddy?", I can get to answer you again "Andito ako anak".

-------------

Those are the things that my brother would like to tell my niece, Sophia, but they can only be spoken in silence.

Christian Anthony Y. Paz, my brother, had the surprise of his life weeks ago. It started with a bad cough that went on for days, then the swelling of his gums, then him becoming completely pale. It was then that he was asked to be admitted in the hospital because the doctors have already suspected that his blood count drop wasn't just caused by a simple infection nor a virus.

Days after, our fear came to life.

He was diagnosed with (AML) Acute Myeloid Leukemia. The kind of cancer in which the bone marrow starts making abnormal blood cells and having these cells spread all throughout the body. This is the kind of leukemia that gets worse rapidly if not treated immediately. First line of treatment is Chemotherapy.

At 31, he was not ready for this. None of us were.

He is currently admitted at the National Kidney Transplant Institute in Quezon City. Several tests will be done before he can start his treatment

But faith, hope, and kindness can help us win this. We are positive that he will beat his illness knowing that lots of people are helping, caring, and praying for him.

We appreciate all the prayers you had for him- THANK YOU. We are still humbly seeking for your help. If you are able to, every centavo is welcome to fund this aggressive treatment.

Giving up is not an option. Not for us. Definitely not for him. Let us all help my husband say goodbye to leukemia, for our dearest Sophia.

God bless you for sharing, praying, and caring.

  • Dear Christian, Trust in the Lord. He is the great Healer. We will continue to pray for you everyday. If you have not accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior this is the perfect time to accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior so that your miracle healing will flow and heal your body. Say "Lord Jesus, I acknowledge that I am a sinner. I ask you to forgive me of my sins. Come into my life. I Accept you as my Lord and Savior. Come and take full control of my life as I offer everything to you, this I pray in Jesus mighty name. Thank you Lord. If you pray this sincerely you have become a child of God and expect God's miracle healing beginning today. It may not be immediate but believe that your healing has begun. Pray and talk to Jesus everyday. Get a Bible and read his living Words. God will heal you in His perfect time. God bless you. Ed & Olive
