Medical procedure for our dog

Brooky is our beloved puppy is a great addition to our family. She has been a great joy and Inspiration to my neighbor who has autism. On January 19, 2019 we noticed she was not her usual playful self and that she breathing very erratic and seems very very tired. We scheduled vet appointment and they examined her, and days later referred us to a vet specialist, who explained that our brooky has a heart condition that could result in is losing her. Patent Ductus Arteriosus PDA is the condition that can be corrected with an open heart surgery procedure. This procedure is very costly and we are short on what we need to make this happen, total cost is 9500.00 and we are 3500.00 shy of that. We do have pet insurance but our plan only covers cost of routine vet care. Unfortunately we are not a very wealthy family and we are already using our rainy day/emergency fund to help cover these cost. Brooky is a part of our family we want to do what ever we can to save her, pet owners understand that more than anyone else.
