Meet our rescued cat, Benito, whom we found unable to walk, wounded and in severe pain on the street fronting our apartment compound last July 3, 2018 around 4:30am.

Aside from his conditions as a stray cat, we suspected that he had an accident or intentionally abused.

He's currently confined in Vets in Practice The Fort, Taguig City, Philippines, where he underwent a surgery addressing his infections (causing his swollen face and this might affect his eyesight), fractured jaw and rotten teeth.

In spite of Benito's weak body, he was able to recover from the surgery (we initially thought that he would not wake up from being sedated) - still, he's fighting for his life.

His complications affected his ability to eat on his own. That's why he's currently on tube feeding.

He also has FIV (equivalent to HIV in humans) and needs to be isolated from other cats.

The vets advised that we can take Benito home but should be closely monitored.

Our current struggles:

a. Financial support to discharge him from the hospital - we cannot take him home yet because our current donations are insufficient to pay the bills. The number of confinement days is increasing as well as the fees.

b. Medicine, food and shelter maintenance once we take him home - Benito is still on tube feeding and medications. We are also looking for someone who can adopt him and willing to foster him inside their home.

We are hoping for more financial support to pay his running hospitalization bill. As of July 17, 2018, his running vet bill is Php 20,000 or approximately $400.

Your 100-200 bucks can greatly help in saving his life. A little sacrifice can make a difference to the life of a cat in need.

"Rescuing a cat will not change the world. But, it will definitely change that cat's life."

Benito is striving so hard to live so we are not giving up on him.

Please help us save Benito's life.

Thank you and God bless.
