Saving Uncle Bruce’s Home

Thank you for taking a moment to read my rather short and to the point story, I truly appreciate your time and consideration. My Uncle Bruce is a helper by nature. All my life there isn't a moment I can look back and not remember him being there for me as well as for everyone else. Now the tables have shifted and he is the one needing a hand up. I was very close with my cousins as they all live right down the road in my nieghborhood so naturally Uncle Bruce was pretty much a third parent to me. From taking care of my Grandmother until her final days to coming to the recue to fix our always ailing vehicles when we are in a tight situation, he has never failed to save our behinds when we desperately need someone's assistance. Now that he is well into his 50's, he having a hard time finding steady work that suits him so he is constantly feeling the sting of being short on cash. He still manages to make it by every month but barely. His home is literally falling apart, he had no exterior siding and hardly a roof and usually goes without heat in the winter and AC in the summer, but he never complains. We all help him and make sure he is warm enough or cool enough but there is only so much we can do. He has a large bit of property , nearly 6 acres to himself, and he has recently started being burglarized because of this. He cannot be all over his property at once so a lot goes under the radar until it's too late.  I've gone to his home and taken photos of objects he truly treasures in an attempt to get them online and sold. While he doesn't hold the value of objects over a roof over his head, I can still tell his heart is breaking knowing that it has come to this. Despite all of these hardships that he is dealing with, he doesn't complain or beg for our help ever though we do try to do what we can. Despite how terrible all of the above things truly are they aren't what I am asking you for your help with today. My truly fantastic Uncle Bruce is a man of few possesions, I don't think he even has two pennies to rub together, but he does have his home and his property, for now. He has been scrablimg to save up enough money to pay his property taxes which have piled up on him over the years to the point that he now has a lein on his property. If he is unable to make this payment of $1700.00 by September 1st he will no longer have his home or his property, he will have nowhere to go. While we all have helped him do whatever we possibly can by taking pictures of his priceless antiques and posting them online and trying to spread the word, we just haven't been able to raise this money for him. I know the due date is looming near and it's deeply saddening this feeling of impending doom. I refuse to give up without exhausting every rescource I can to help him. I have to, as he has helped me so often in my life. Thank you for taking a moment to read this and know that even if you are unable to donate I know that there are people just like us who do care but cannot always help. I appreciate it greatly if you are able to help in any way. I don't know what to do knowing that this man that I truly love and care for so much who has lost his house to a fire, his wife to diabetes and now possibly his lifelong home to taxes. I know it seems like a desperate please, and that is because at this point it truly is.
