Hi all,

First of all, thank you for your continued support. We wouldn't be this far along if it were not for all of you!

The baby deer have been coming early this year and there are already a lot of abandoned babies that need help! The courageous rescuers in Ohio are already getting a lot of calls about babies in distress that need care! We are planning on being in Ohio later this month to start filming and to help the baby deer in any way that we can, too.

To film in mid-July (finally) we need to cover the costs of a small crew, travel, lodging and equipment rentals. If we can raise enough money we would like to hire two additional crew members. If we can just cover the cost of this first trip we could get a substantial amount of footage for the documentary and will work towards raising the funds for the next leg of production as we go along. This will accomplish so much good for the baby deer of Ohio and other states that have the heartless law in place to kill any baby deer that has been orphaned or abandoned. At this time we need to raise an additional $4400 to take a very small crew to Ohio to film. None of us are working on this documentary for pay, by the way, this is just to cover travel and equipment rental costs. If we are able to raise more, we will hire two additional crew members in Ohio to save on the travel expenses. We could definitely use them.

Admittedly, fund raising is not our strong point and we really need your help. Sharing our link and telling your friends will go a long way. A lot of little animals that deserve a chance at rescue and rehab will benefit from this documentary. We need all the support we can get and definitely cannot do this without you.

Thank you again for supporting this cause and our documentary. Words cannot describe our gratefulness.

Hello Deerly Beloved Friends,

We wanted to give you an update on this campaign. First of all, thank you all for continuing to stay with us and for sharing our links and emailing us with encouragement. It really does make a difference.

We are working towards getting to Ohio at the beginning of the year to meet with the Saving Trooper team to document their progress and to meet Trooper and Patch. We have some crew members in the local area that have offered to work on our documentary for a fraction of their normal rates.

We also have our own Facebook page now. Please take a moment to "like" us. We'll share many images and videos there.

We also have a new video for our funding page. If you haven't already watched it, please have a look. These little fawns sound just like babies. It's mind-blowing, really.

Please share our link with your friends. As always we are grateful to you all!

Sincerely,

The Deerly Beloved Team

Hello Deer Friends,

We're still trying to raise the funds to get our crew out to Ohio. There have been delays however, our spirits are not dampened. We are committed to getting our bill passed and getting this story told. Our hope is to save the fawns of Ohio, but we also would like to shed light on this topic to hopefully bring change in other states, as well. One day we hope to use this documentary to educate young children about the importance of respecting wildlife. These beautiful creatures are not just here for man's recreation (hunting). They are precious beings that deserve a chance at life.

Please share our link with your friends and loved ones.

Thank you!

Hello Deer Friends!

We wanted to send an update about our project. As some of you may know our bill was passed over in one session, stalled in another and we are waiting once again to have our opportunity to be heard. This along with the death of Trooper's human daddy and caretaker Andy, delayed our progress. Our hearts were and are still broken. He was a gentle soul and one of a kind. The animals needs extra care for quite some time. They knew he was gone and they also suffered from the loss. They feel just like we do, as you know.

Because of the delays getting our bill assigned to a committee, as well as the loss of Andy, our documentary naturally also had to be delayed. We needed some time to grieve and regroup. We've discussed it and we all agree that we are ready now.

The production team has called out many favors and because of this the documentary can be made for much less money. We have decided to promote our fundraising efforts in stages. We will have the film crew come to Ohio in May for the first round of interviews and to catch some footage of the newborn deer that will be "arriving". We'll raise the money as we go, for each step of the production. If we are able to raise the entire funds sooner, that won't be a bad thing, at all. We will be able to use any additional funds for rescue and rehab.

Thank you all so much for being our support system. We appreciate your love, support, patience and encouragement while we were stalled in our efforts and when we lost sweet Andy. With spring here and the babies coming, we've got to get moving!

Please share our link with your family and friends and any animal lovers that cross your path!

Sincerely,

The Saving Trooper Team

Thank you deer friends, thank you for your support! We won't give up our fight. We are doing all that we can to bring awareness to this horrifying issue. Our bill was "skipped" when it was supposed to be assigned to a committee. It is a temporary setback and we will get to the bottom of it.

In the meantime, we have received more devastating news about sweet fawns that have been stolen from their rescuers and killed by the DNR in Ohio as well as other states. We can't stand by and just watch! We are still trying to raise funds for a strong legal team and we MUST get our documentary made! Please continue to share the link to this fundraiser and we will continue our fight to save lives.

With love to each and every one of you from the Saving Trooper Team..

Thank you for putting together such an important Documentary to raise awareness about the counterintuitive fact that in some states, like OH, rescue, rehabilitation, empathy and compassion for injured fawns is considered against the law and for shining a light on how advocates worked together to save Trooper's life - and how and why advocates are now working hard to change the law so that all deer can have a chance to continue on with their lives when injured or orphaned, and to benefit once again from rehabilitation .

Compassion for another living creature should never be outlawed. Freedom of religion is a right guaranteed under our constitution. The choice to nurture and support the lives of these and other vulnerable animals is a spiritual one and should be honored as any other religious belief with no interference by the state.
