WE NEED YOUR HELP TO MAKE OUR DOCUMENTARY!
We will be documenting the story of Trooper, a three-legged deer in Ohio and a courageous group of people that have fought to get a bill passed (Trooper's HB#267) in the state of Ohio to save orphaned fawns from an instant death sentence. If we can raise enough money we will also visit families in Wisconsin and Montana that have had the deer they rescued mercilessly killed. Giggles was just 22 lbs when the DNR in Wisconsin forcefully removed him from a sanctuary and then shot and killed him. Sassy's family in Montana was changed forever by her grace and will never heal from losing her to gunshots. Sadly, the Dept of Wildlife shot and killed her right in front of her human family. There can be a humane solution for the orphaned and abandoned fawns. Rescue, rehab and release is much more ethical than killing any newborn animal.
The budget has been cut several times with many of people working on this as a labor of love. Yet, even with their generous donation of time, there are still many costs that cannot be avoided. Camera and sound equipment, insurance, travel and lodging, editing, artwork, website, color corrections, music, titles, licenses and deliverables; all of these costs, and more, will need to be covered and we truly need help to make this happen.
Right now we are only trying to cover the expenses for filming in Ohio 2-3 times, along with everything listed above, but if we are able to raise more we'll also schedule filming in Wisconsin and Montana. We have lots of great rewards for our donors. Please find it in your heart to donate today. To learn more of the backstory please see the note below from Trooper's rescue team in Ohio.
A Note From Trooper's Rescue Team In Ohio:
"We have had petitions, fundraisers, local and national press, have built a strong loving community on social media, and have continued to fight for our voiceless fur friends. Our rescue efforts have spanned the nation as we have helped save lives from coast to coast. Now we are calling on our community of colleagues, neighbors, family, friends and supporters to help us in our continued fight to save these magnificent and precious creatures. We are currently fighting to have a bill passed that will change the ODNR's "right" to shoot to kill a fawn, simply for being orphaned. All too often, the ODNR has arrived with guns loaded. They have shot and killed precious fawns in front of children and family members who were rehabilitating these animals, while some of the animals were just days old. It should not be a crime to save a life. Rehabilitation needs to be the way of the future.
Although our story is based in Ohio, the struggles our fur friends face around the world are the same. Their lives matter and life is precious to all that possess it."
