Every Turtle deserves a chance at life!

My mission for this campaign is to raise enough money so I am able to travel to Costa Rica this coming June, to volunteer for the sea turtle conservation! This cause is important to me because most of the species of sea turtles are endangered, due to litter in the oceans, and human action, and over exploitation. Human actions have made these reptiles endangered. Three species out of seven are endangered worldwide.
Sea turtle's are important because they make sure the seagrass beds and coral reefs are maintained for other marine life to thrive. People poach for sea turtle eggs, meat and shells and then sell them illegally on an international market. To contribute to this crisis, I will be finding sea turtle nests, carefully digging the eggs up and relocating them in a man-made nest to keep the predators out, and then I will check the temperature of the nests to make sure they are healthy and able to hatch, and help them find their way to the ocean!
Not only will I be giving the turtle’s a helping hand but I will also get to submerge myself in the culture. I will be helping children with anything they need help with, it could be tutoring or even teaching them English! I’ll be laying sand and rock down on busy trails in smaller towns and painting buildings as well, and gardening! I want to do this to make a change in the world. This is the perfect opportunity to grow mentally and see how a different part of the world operates, and learn their ways and experience a different culture. This is definitely something that I have wanted to do for a few years ever since I heard about volunteering to save turtles. Going new places is way out of my comfort zone, but I am trying to be a part of something that not only benefits other people and wildlife but myself.
