Meet Mr Teller,
Teller is an emergency case we picked up on Thursday 1-25 as a Snake Bite victim from a local shelter. He was in dire shape, his neck swollen and so hard he was having difficulties breathing. With how painful and uncomfortable he was, he still gave kisses and tail wags to each and every single one of us. He deserves a chance!
We ran to the shelter to pick him up and rushed him to emergency where he could be assessed and a treatment plan put in place. Once we got Teller to Animal Hospital of Regency Park he was immediately looked at. An Exam was performed, Ultrasound and an aspirate of the large firm swelling of the neck to determined he needed to go in and have everything drained/cleaned and wound repaired as there are multiple bite/scratch wounds and it had gotten severely infected and caused multiple abscesses which were so full that is what is putting pressure on his trachea causing him to have a hard time breathing.
The cleaning and drain alone is $337 - this in not including diagnostics, hospitalization and on-going care. Mr Teller is also Heartworm positive. He has the odds stacked against him, but the Rugaz community backing him! This sweet amazing boy deserves the chance to know what being a spoiled, loved, cherished happy ever after looks like!

Update posted by Rugaz Rescue Inc at 08:04 pmMr Teller's neck wounds healed up nicely and he's put on some pounds after kicking infection and parasite infestations butt!So today he started his heartworm treatment! One more step in becoming a happy healthy boy who will be looking for a happy ever after soon!

His drain was removed today and a few little places were stitched up where the skin had to be cleared.In 3 more days he will. . . . .

A drain placed in, and sadly we've already found that some of the skin is already necrotic and dying. So after a few days of treatment and stabilizing care, another surgery will need to be performed to remove all the. . . . .
