Sheldon is a feral cat that has been found in extremely poor health condition 6 days ago. His leg has probably been bitten by a dog which led to multiple fractures and a massive infection.
He’s been agonizing on the streets for approximately a week (according to the veterinarian) until someone found him lying on the ground in their backyard.
It was thought that Sheldon had no chance at surviving - euthanasia being the only option - and the veterinarian has been contacted. Even though Sheldon was severely dehydrated, his leg started necrotizing and his body temperature was so low that the thermometer couldn’t display it, the vet decided to give him a chance and fight for his life.
Sheldon has been on intensive care therapy for 5 days, being rehydrated and treated for the infection that spread from his leg into his whole body. He started eating, purring and walking, being on the road to recovery.
As already mentioned, his leg suffered multiple fractures and started necrotizing, so amputation will be necessary once the infection is under control. Then he will be dewormed, and vaccinated. Finally, he will need a responsible and loving family.
The costs that need to be covered are represented by the following: 5 days on intensive therapy, the medication for approximately 15 days, the amputation, deworming and vaccination.
Sheldon really needs a better life, so let’s try give him the love, caring and affection he deserves!
No matter how small, every donation will be more than appreciated and will help covering the costs for his medical care.
