Saving my Leg

My name is Etienne Kenneth Webster, I am 48 years old and are a below knee amputee for the past 23 years. I have lost my right leg below the knee in 1995. With the aid of a prosthesis I have led a normal life with nothing holding me back. I can do what any able bodied person can do and a bit more than some.

On Sunday morning the 22nd of July 2018 my leg was swollen and I had difficulty fitting my prosthesis,

by Sunday night my leg was so bad that a friend rushed me to hospital were the started a course of antibiotics were I received a IV every 12 hours.

Today , the 24th my leg are looking worse and The doctors need to submit me to hospital, The Little Company of Mary.

The surgeon, Dr Pierre van Rooyen wanted me in hospital today.

Up until this afternoon I have been paying cash for all the treatment and medicine. Now I have to pay in advance for at least 5 days in hospital including treatment excluding the doctors an amount equal to $ 3021.69 This is a prelim quote the hospital gave me and does not even include the surgeon's fees. They are going to put me on a very strong course of antibiotics and if that do not help in three day's the possibility of surgery were brought up. At this stage they think it is Necrosis of the tissue around the knee.

Due to the fact that I do not have a medical aid I can not be submitted to hospital before I pay the full amount.

The doctors think I have Necrosis in my knee and that it is spreading at a alarming rate. If I do not receive intimidate treatment There might be a possibility that I might loose my knee.

All funds will be used to pay the medical fees.

As I have been a below knee amputee for so many years I have a saving account to save funds for my silicon sleeves, cones, feet, ect. a Prosthesis is a very expensive hobby and I always have enough to cover expenses as they occur.

6 Months ago a very dear friend of mine was diagnosed with cancer, all my additional funds was used for covering some of her cost.

I am working for myself building furniture and if I can not walk I can not work and I can not make an income.
