Saving my 26-week old niece, Soleia Nesiah Vasquez

The expectant mother had a sudden rise in blood pressure and premature contractions, she was immediately sent to hospital (St. Claire’s Hospital Makati) and underwent emergency ceasarian section. MayJoarie (mother) had history of diabetes and Hypertension which complicated the pregnancy.

A day after, Soleia Nesiah was born extremely premature. She was just 26-week old with a very low birth weight of 800 grams and 34cm long. She has to stay in Neonatal Intensive care unit (NICU).

Her major organs are not fully developed, baby needs tubes to breathe and wait for lungs to develop so she can breathe on her own. Soleia Nesiah is also attached to IV lines, ventilators and feeding tubes. She needed blood transfusion several days ago. There were times when my niece forgot to breathe and got no pulse but is still fighting for her dear life. (Code Blue)

During this period, MayJoarie was still recuperating from surgery and tried to get a normal blood pressure readings. The father, Jefferson Vasquez, had too much to take in from the moment he brought his wife to the hospital up until seeing his baby for the first time in that condition prematurely.

Together with his family and friends, we were able to come up with an amount that was needed, however Soleia Nesiah needs your help to mature her organs and be out of danger zone. Approxiamtely, P15,000/day is needed to keep her in NICU. I am asking for your assistance to let Soleia Nesiah fight for her life.
