Saving Momma "Jersey" and the Abandoned 7.
Miss Jersey (Formally Sushi) sadly, ended up at a local shelter unable to walk with injuries. She was hit by a car, and she was full of milk being a nursing mother. Her owners surrendered Miss Jersey not wanting to treat her, and kept her entire litter of puppies leaving Jersey full of milk, injured from the accident and completely without her babies.
After working with the shelter and getting Xrays of her spine, her injury has been found out to be able to heal on it's own with strict rest and monitoring with pain management, re-checks and antibiotics for her wounds.
We knew we needed to save her, and knew it was going to be a bit of a recovery for her needing to help the body process milk she is still producing and lactating from having a missing litter of puppies. We knew we could help her through this process of grieving and medical and while we were on the way to the shelter to get her...
Something happened.
We got a call from a different local shelter that 7 approx 4-5 week old babies were abandoned while the owners took the mother and left the litter and asked if we would be able to help or if we had a nursing mother who could help them...
Sometimes everything happens for a reason... So one direction a volunteer went to save Momma Jersey and another direction a volunteer went to save the 7 babies...
Together we will help both of these families heal, grow to be happy and healthy and make this journey together.
Today, we saved a nursing mother who was ripped from her babies, and 7 babies who were ripped away from their mother... Today, a village fought to save every one of their lives and bring them together.
Today, we need your help to make the next few weeks of recovery a reality. Every single dollar makes a life time of a difference for each and every single one of their lives.
