Saving Mirmina

Hello my name is Mirmina and I am a four month old female kitten. I was rescued on December  30th by a group of loving humans. I was hiding underneath a car, trying to keep warm, in Portugal Cove when they found me. It was so cold out that night that when they pulled me out my hind legs and tail could not move, and my face was covered in frozen discharge. I was so weak and tired. The humans took me to a house and because I was too sick to eat on my own, they syringed me food and water. The next morning they took me to the vet; she said I was very sick and she suggested putting me down because she wasn’t sure if I was going to make it…My human friends didn’t want to give up on me yet, so they bought me antibiotics and eye drops and took me back home. I am finally feeling a bit better now and I am eating and drinking on my own .However, my right eye is still very painful. It is ulcerated and the vet says it is completely blind. The vet also told us that in order to reduce my pain and problems in the future my eye needs to be removed. The surgery is approximately $1500.00 - $2000 or more...PLUS the costs of vaccinations and follow up appointments;and because my human friends are students with little disposable income, we are asking for your help!!
