Saving for a car

Hello everyone, allow me to introduce myself. I am an 18 year old high school student from Slovenia. I decided to go to a university, to get a degree has always been one of my life goals and I will most likely be accepted to the university i applied to.

Unfortunately, I will be unable to attend classes unless I’m able to drive to school. I was able to ride a bike to school for the past 10+ years, but those days are over now. The university I’m about to go to is way too far. I live in a not-so-practical location, out of reach of any bus or train routes.

I spent most of my life living only with my mother and my sister. My mum has done everything in her power to help me and put me and my sister in a better position, but it hasnt been easy. I don’t want to put any more pressure on her. Even with my part time job we are still struggling. My goal is to get a job as soon as I can to help her out.

I realise the 2000€ goal is more than enough for a car. I want to get me a car that will last a couple of years, at least until I’m able to get a better job than the part time one I have now. I know i might get a cheaper one, but I don’t feel comfortable risking it breaking down after a year.
