Saving "Brock" and "Peach" from the ninety animals seized in cruelty case.
On Tuesday the 18th upon investigating cruelty complaints, Deputies found three horses, three dogs, 10 cats, one goat, 14 chickens, 11 ducks, one cockatoo and 44 rabbits, plus four dead rabbits on the property. Two of the dogs were improperly tethered, malnourished, open wounds and in grave condition.
The two seniors that were in deplorable grave condition were immediately taken into the shelter, and moved to Rugaz Rescue Inc foster homes for continued medical care and safe keeping while charges were pending and the case was on going.
On the 26th Rugaz Rescue Inc were legally awarded custody of "Brock" and "Peach" to continue their medical treatments.
Miss "Peach" was extremely malnourished, and partly cause was due to a mass on the front of her mouth that encompassed most of her eating capabilities. We have sense removed this mass, along with cleaning up her teeth so she can eat her food effectively and pain free. Her skin was completely infected and yeast riddled due to being kept in deplorable conditions in a tiny mud filled cage outside. This also caused secondary infections of the eyes/ears and nail-beds.
Mr "Brock" was also extremely malnourished, but his condition was far worse. Brock's right ear drum was completely ruptured due to festering untreated ear infection that got so bad we had to remove live maggots from inside his ear canal. He has open wounds along all 4 of his legs, this is due to only having approx 3 feet on his chain to move around in the dirt as he tried to free himself. He also has secondary skin/ear/eye infections.
Miss Peach and Mr Brock are receiving the best medical care, and being spoiled rotten and shown what it is to truly be loved and adored with their foster families until they are healthy enough to find forever homes of their own. No dogs should ever have to live this way, let alone senior pups.
Please help us get Brock and Peach healthy again!
