This is our son Halcyon Ezekiel Zosa, we call him Bacon- he's 4 months old now and born with a hole in his heart. We never had any inkling of Bacon having a Congenital Heart Disease until he was brought to the ER due to a fever after his immunization. After a series of laboratories and ultrasounds, the doctor then concluded that Bacon has Ventricular Septal Defect with a 0.52cm hole in his heart. According to his Pedia-Cardio, the hole is unlikely to close on its own due to misalignments of the blood vessels which leads to the irregular functioning of his heart causing his heart to be enlarged and affecting his lungs. Bacon shows no weaknesses and he's very active inspite of his condition although there are times that he would have difficulty breathing especially during feeding time. With his case going grim by the second, Bacon needs to have an open heart surgery done before turning one to avoid complications because currently his heart isn't in its normal state and functionality. The more we delay the surgery, the more we put his life at risk. The procedure may cost around half a million or more. So we're knocking on your kind hearts to help us save Bacon.
