Hello everyone, My wife and I (she is a chinese national and I am from the US) had to have an emergency c-section. My little baby, Mavis, is currently in the NICU recieving care in Beijing...but we have the worst problem ever, no insurance to cover the mounting costs. In China the baby must be born in the mothers home town to recieve nearly free treatment with costs related to the birthing and care process. My wife is from Hebei, literally next to Beijing. I couldnt change my insurance in time... so no insurance to help us. We need help badly, as babies of her age are usually given up due to costs not payable by standard Chinese citizens. Currently our NICU doctor has estimated a cost of 375,000 rmb (60,000 usd) for her current condition. It could go up if other issues arise, but she looks strong currently. My little Mavis needs help asap, and anything you can give will help us in our most dire time of need. Thank you in advance Julio, Snow and Baby Mavis

Steady as she goes.
Update posted by Julio Rodriguez at 11:51 pmHello kind strangers, Its been a awhile and I have some updates. She is still on a breathing machine, but has shown improvements overall. Mavis still needs time for her lungs to grow and gain strength, so the doctor has said he has no plans to remove the machine this. . . . .
Happy Chinese New Year!
Update posted by Julio Rodriguez at 05:17 amHello Kind Strangers, As I mentioned last time, we asked the medical team to give us a new estimate for medical costs. It was re-estimated as 200,000 rmb or about 33,000 usd. We have recieved donations from friends and family of about 66,000 rmb (10,645 usd) so far. This leaves. . . . .
A miracle?!
Update posted by Julio Rodriguez at 09:12 pmHello kind strangers! We just got word that our little Mavis is showing improved white and red blood cell counts! The cause for her weakness seems to have come from a condition known as Neutropenia. They have given her some antibiotics to tackle any infection she might have remaining, if. . . . .
Still hanging in there!
Update posted by Julio Rodriguez at 09:30 pmHello everyone, We had some issues with getting the PayPal verified, so you can now donate. As for little Mavis, her condition is still fragile and we are unable to touch or see her. According to the doctors, Mavis most likely suffered an infection of the womb, which slowed her. . . . .
