Help Save an Angel

We Jackie and Alain have been trying to start a family for the last five years. There have been frustrations and more than a little headache along the way. We lost 2 angels in 1 year span. (1 was blighted ovum and 2nd was ectopic pregnancy, but in July 2017 we were blessed with a news that Jackie was pregnant again for the 3rd time. Jackie and Alain have been a happy, healthy, expectant couple ready to start their family life in 2018, when, during the 21-week scan, heartache has hit us yet again.

During a routine scan to check the baby’s development the doctor told us that the baby has a congenital problem and was diagnosed with Ectopia Cordis and Gastroschisis. Ectopia Cordis is an extremely rare condition where the heart is developing outside of the chest cavity affecting 8 in a million. There are many challenges facing us and the baby, whose only hope will be having immediate and complicated surgery as soon as she is born.

A much needed 2-D echo scan was ordered by the doctor to determine the baby’s heart structure. It was done by Dr. Charles Cuaso who is the leading and pioneering Pediatric cardiologist in the Philippines. The scan results shows that there is no structural damage on the heart except that it is forming outside. Indeed it is a bitter sweet result for the scan.

We have decided to name our baby girl, due to be born in April 2018 “Mira” short for miracle, as Mira will be the miracle that helps us start the Family that we’ve always wanted. However for this miracle to come to pass we, baby Mira desperately need your help! We have been told that the surgery that baby needs to save her life will be extremely expensive. We have no way of raising the funds needed to save baby Mira’s life before April 2018. We are asking you to please look into your hearts and give whatever you can to help pay for the surgery that will save baby Mira’s life. Please donate what you can and help us and baby Mira to have the miracle that so many of us take for granted, a warm and loving family.
