To help a young hard working couple.
Dear Reader, My name is Kevin. I was in a position to read the below short letter that my dear friends were looking to post – After reading it, I realized that they were far too humble to state just how hard they are trying to make ends meet, so I decided to post their original letter along with some additional info I thought would give you a greater idea of who they are…
Rochelle works as a Creditors Team Leader. Jay used to work as a UX/UI Designer, he is a qualified Graphics Designer. Neither of them were ever known to be big spenders.
Below is the original note from Jay & Rochelle:
I lost my job due to the pandemic in June 2020. Timing was terribly unfortunate, since we had just moved homes so that we could rent an apartment closer to my work.
I’ve been applying for jobs but only had one interview since then which is so disheartening.
We are falling behind on payments as we have to keep paying in arrears.
We struggle to afford electricity and groceries because Rochelle’s salary does not cover everything due to her medical bills related to Asthma, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Hypothyroidism.
I have some projects here and there for money but it’s been going very slow.
I’ve also been involved with streaming, as a means to try and receive an income.
Our little family consists of Rochelle, myself and our two beautiful dogs Thor & Scarlett. We always feed our dogs before ourselves, that's the rule in our home. We got both our dogs at a time when we were both permanently employed, at which time we were able to afford looking after both dogs and ourselves.
We sold everything we don’t use, and we’ve learned to use less to get us through the days, weeks and months. We’ve sold all our furniture & appliances, except for one couch, a fridge and a computer I use for my odd jobs that I receive. Unfortunately, due to our situation, we are no longer able to eat regular meals nor are we in a position to pay for medication necessary for Rochelle.
Rochelle needs petrol to get to work which we can’t afford without taking money away from our budget for food and electricity.
Thank you so much for your time reading about our situation…We would be truly grateful for any help, financial or workwise.
Warm Regards, Jay & Rochelle.
Continuation from Kevin: Dear reader, I cannot state enough, just how hard both Jay & Rochelle are working to make ends meet. They are currently trying their best to involve themselves with more than one job, they’ve cut down what was already a frugal way of living to the bare minimum. When they talk about food, electricity or fuel, these are all items that are totally necessary for their means to make ends meet. It seems that as Jay & Rochelle pay for one thing, other bills tend to creep up, usually in the form of Rochelle’s medical bills or fuel for her to get to work. From Jay’s side, electricity is as important for him as fuel is for Rochelle, as this is absolutely necessary for him to carry out the odd jobs he tries to get involved with – given his qualifications.
As a dear friend of theirs, I implore you to please assist this small family to help them get on their feet again.
Any financial donation or possible assistance with work would be highly appreciated.
