The University of Worcester Rowing Club have created this page to raise funds due to the catastrophic damage caused to our fleets during recent flooding.
A large protected tree which was located in the middle of our boat storage area was uprooted by flood water causing it to fall and deal a great deal of damage to the surrounding boats. The boats affected make up the majority of our fleet.
What are we doing about it?
In the short term we are relying on the overwhelming support of the rowing community in the form of short term loans of equipment to help us get on the water and attend events in the coming weeks.
In the medium to long term we need to raise funds to repair and replace the damage boats. To do this we are obviously working with our insurers but additional funds are desperately required to help us towards our aim of returning our fleet to anything near the state that has taken the club over 5 years to reach.
It is for this reason this page is created; to allow us to appeal for donations.
We have estimated the cost of bringing our fleet back to its peak standard before the flooding to be in the region of £50,000. Any money raised will go directly into the repair and replacment of our boats and your donation will be the difference between our club getting back on track for our most succesful season to date and the club being virtually crippled by the damage.
