Campaign Story
Over the past two years, at least 65 people with albinism have been attacked and more than 18 have been killed in Malawi - sometimes mutilated and dismembered alive by assailants.
SAVE a SOUL, a group of 25 Students from different Colleges and Artists intends to carry a National wide Campaign to educate Malawian citizens about the myth that killing people with albinism brings wealth. The sensitization will be in different stages through print and electronic media, one to one discussion with community leaders and live performances. We also want to buy protective clothing like woven sweaters, hats and sunglasses for albinos though we may not reach to all of them.
"Societal misunderstanding of albinism in Malawi has endangered the lives of this population group. It has created insecurity and widespread discrimination. In everyday life people with albinism are frequently treated as less than human.
Help the young Malawians with the eager spirit of youths to reach very remote areas where voices of the grassroots are seldom heard. The situation is getting worse.
THANK YOU. ANY DONATION WILL MAKE A BIG DIFFERENCE
